The History of Gonstead Chiropractic in Arizona

In early 1992, Dr. Lara came to visit Arizona and saw that it was a growing city with only a hand full of Gonstead chiropractors. During that time, Dr. Lara was teaching The Gonstead System at Life College School of Chiropractic in Marietta, Georgia as well as around the southeast. Dr. Lara felt that Arizona was where he was to called to be and therefore moved to Phoenix in 1994. In addition to quickly developing a large practice, his desire to teach and help doctors led him to start a Gonstead organization in Phoenix. He began to teach the Gonstead System to Doctors around various part of Arizona. Dr. Lara had quickly developed a great reputation around the chiropractic community and the community in general. As Dr. Lara continued to teach Gonstead around the country, interest was shown by many chiropractic students and young doctors to come to the great state of Arizona. Dr. Lara has trained many of the Gonstead doctors in the valley today. Most of them have done an internship at one of the Gonstead Clinic locations or have taken seminars taught by Dr. Lara.
Dr. Lara is so glad to have started such a chiropractic legacy here in
Arizona and watch the valley go from just a few Gonstead Chiropractors in 1992 to the large number it is today.

Dr. Lara wanted to offer patients a place where they could come from all over the world and to continue the teachings of Dr. Clarence Gonstead. This desire led to the design of the second largest Gonstead Clinic in the United States. In 2002, the Gonstead Chiropractic building was built by Dr. Lara. This is a modern state of the art Gonstead Clinic. It was modeled after the original Gonstead Clinic in Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin which was built in a Frank Lloyd Wright style in 1964. The Gonstead Clinic in Phoenix is able to accommodate several hundred patients on a daily basis by having multiple Gonstead doctors train and work there. Today, Dr. Lara not only continues to accommodate large numbers of patients, but also continues his help to other doctors by teaching them and providing space for 8 other doctors to work in his clinic. It is the commitment to excellence and integrity that has helped make Dr. Lara the doctor he is today, but he accredits all of his success to the Lord and is so thankful that he has been blessed with such a unique way to serve Him.
